About Fatima Saeed

Fatima Saeed is the Senior Advisor to the Foreign Affairs Committee of Somaliland Parliament. She held senior positions inside the UN agencies (primarily UNDP & UNHCR) along with other international rights and humanitarian organisations working in Somaliland like Save the Children, and the Swiss Group. Fatima is a civil war survivor who fought, for years, the dictatorship of Siad Barre’s regime and worked with international media on disclosing the atrocities of Barre’s government in Somaliland. Primarily brought up in UK, Fatima holds graduate and post graduate certificates from the UK, worked for the UK Government and was a community activist there. She is a mother of four and now a grandmother.
